We are looking for a marketing multi-hyphenate: content-creative-strategist-ideator-writer. Someone who may not fit on a traditional org chart, but will be able to revolutionize the way  we connect with our audience on their terms. This may mean compiling a sobfest of puppy rescue videos one day and staging a flash mob the next – we want people with ideas that gain attention and have the ability to capture the imaginations of our readers.

You Will:

• Review our current content’s traffic & social stats
• Present your current projects past/present/future to senior level staff
• Come up with ideas for original content: articles that have never been written before
• Pitch & write stories, or find the perfect writer/creator for the job
• Choose which of our articles might be good candidates for multimedia efforts: remix as video, a cartoon, a gif, a livecast, etc.
• Create exciting articles or finding appropriate freelancers to complete special projects (i.e. maybe their idea involves renting a hot air balloon and a cowboy, they have to see the creative project through from start to finish)
• Budget projects & wrangle talent
• Review content that is very popular on other digital platforms & applying those lessons to our content

The Ideal Candidate:

• Is highly creative with a flair for innovation
• Has experience creating original content for large audiences
• Is not intimidated by obscure topics
• Researches new stories zealously
• Is resourceful by nature, able to hunt down the perfect image every time
• Effectively juggles multiple deadlines & projects
• Expresses ideas through a variety of multimedia (video, memes, slideshows, Storify, quizzes, social)
• Is going to stand out from the crown with more than just a resume and a typical portfolio
